Driving Sustainable Mobility

Aluminium E-mobility.

With the EU targeting a 55% reduction in CO2 emissions for cars by 2030, aluminium is set to play a key role in helping automakers meet their sustainability goals.

The average aluminium content in vehicles is expected to grow significantly from 205 kg per vehicle in 2022 to 237 kg by 2026 (+15.6%) and 256 kg by 2030 (+24.9%) *.

The increasing demand for electric vehicles (EVs) over the next decade will drive substantial growth for aluminium.

EVs require lightweight materials to maximise vehicles’ efficiency and range. Aluminium meets these requirements by ensuring low weight compared to other metals, while maximising strength and durability.
