Symetal specialises in the production of high-quality aluminium foil products, primarily serving the food, pharmaceutical and tobacco industries. With over 40 years of expertise and export activity in more than 70 countries, Symetal provides innovative and competitive, high value-added solutions tailored to the needs of even the most demanding international customers. 

Symetal operates two advanced production facilities in Greece equipped with cutting-edge technology. 

  • Foil rolling plant (Oinofyta, Viotia): Specialises in the production of plain aluminium foil in various gauges and alloys for diverse applications.

  • Foil converting plant (Mandra, Attica): Specialises in the conversion of aluminium foil into packaging applications, producing foil coated and/or laminated with paper. The site also features in-house lacquer production, a key auxiliary material for lacquered products, ensuring full quality control, formulation flexibility and strong vertical integration in non-aluminium components.

In order to meet the markets’ continuously rising expectations, Symetal’s Technology & R&D team focuses on the ongoing improvement and development of new products and processes, fully aligned with the company’s core objectives of top quality, innovation and sustainability.

Symetal’s Technology Department develops technologies that introduce and ensure innovative surface design and enhanced mechanical characteristics. These technologies allow high aluminium foil affinity control for laminates and coatings, as well as flawless forming.

  • Additional certifications (Mandra plant): ISO 15378:2017, ISO 22000:2018, FSSC 22000 (V6) and FSC® Chain of Custody FSC-C127612 (FSC-STD-40-004 V3-1).

  • ASI certification: Achieved ASI Performance Standard certification, underscoring dedication to sustainability.

  • EcoVadis: In 2024 Symetal achieved the Platinum Rating, placing it at the top 1% of all companies assessed.

  • Sedex: A member since 2014, Symetal is committed to responsible operations, ethical standards and improving working conditions throughout its value chain.

  • CDP: Since 2014, Symetal has voluntarily participated in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Supply Chain Program, to address climate change. For 2025, Symetal was rated a grade D for its performance in the “Climate Change” section and a grade C in the “Water Security” section (reference year: 2024).
