ELKEME, Hellenic Research Centre for Metals S.A., was founded in 1999 to support the Hellenic Metallurgical Industry. Through its state-of-the-art laboratories, ELKEME focuses on industrial research and technological development/analysis of the four major metals sectors: aluminium, copper, steel, and zinc. ELKEME provides R&D services and technical solutions for the development of new products while optimising existing products and business and plant production processes.
ELKEME’s technological research encompasses the development of innovative, high-value products, the improvement of production processes, the optimisation of industrial operations for energy and cost-efficiency, and the environmental impact assessments across various industrial sectors. ELKEME also leads research into recycling, waste stabilisation, and by-product utilisation to support the sustainable development of companies.
ELKEME’s team members frequently publish research papers to international scientific journals and provide oral or poster presentations to international conferences while they are invited to offer lectures at universities, technical workshops and seminars.
