  • Elval achieves Nadcap accreditation

Elval, the aluminium rolling division of ElvalHalcor S.A., has achieved Nadcap® (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) accreditation for its Materials Testing Laboratories at the Oinofyta facility in Greece. Nadcap accreditation is one of the most demanding quality certifications in the aerospace industry. It is an industry-managed, peer-review program that assesses compliance with stringent technical standards defined by major aerospace prime contractors. Created in 1990 by SAE International and administered by the not-for-profit Performance Review Institute® (PRI), Nadcap® is widely regarded as a benchmark for quality, safety, and risk management across the global aerospace supply chain.

Elval’s accreditation process involved an extensive on-site technical audit, including evaluation of laboratory procedures, testing equipment, personnel competency, and overall process capability. Achieving Nadcap® accreditation confirms that Elval meets the highest industry requirements for materials testing and quality assurance, positioning the aluminium rolling division of ElvalHalcor SA as a trusted supplier for aerospace and defense applications.

“Nadcap accreditation is globally recognised as a hallmark of quality and a major accomplishment,” said Jay Solomond, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Performance Review Institute. “The aerospace industry relies on Nadcap to manage risk and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. We are delighted that Elval has achieved accreditation for Materials Testing Laboratories, reflecting the effectiveness of its quality systems and the dedication of its team.”

Lina Koudouni, Quality Assurance Specialist at Elval, commented: “Nadcap accreditation demonstrates conformance to the most stringent standards for materials testing in the aerospace supply chain, the reliability of our testing and quality systems and the dedication of our teams to maintaining the highest levels of performance and precision.”

Panagiotis Alevras, Product Development Manager at Elval, stated: “Nadcap accreditation highlights Elval’s long-standing commitment to delivering consistently high-quality to our customers. It reflects the robustness of our processes and our focus on excellence at every stage of our rolling operations.”

Today, more than 57 OEMs participate in the Nadcap program, with over 5,000 supplier audits conducted annually. More than 50 major aerospace prime manufacturers require Nadcap accreditation throughout their supply chains, making it a critical qualification for participation in high-value aerospace programs. Industry data shows that over 75% of Nadcap-accredited companies report increased sales or new business opportunities, while nearly 90% report measurable improvements in quality and operational performance.

Nadcap accreditation represents more than a quality milestone. It strengthens Elval’s credibility through independent validation, enhances access to demanding aerospace markets, and increases visibility through inclusion on the QML. At the same time, the discipline required to meet Nadcap standards drives progress in overall operational efficiency.

Elval will continue to invest in quality, technology, and people, reinforcing its long-term strategy to grow responsibly in the most contemporary and demanding market sectors while consistently meeting advanced customer and industry requirements.
