Artificial intelligence is opening new possibilities for industrial development, from optimising production processes to improving efficiency and supporting innovation. Translating this potential into practical value requires a close connection between technological capabilities and the needs of manufacturing. This relationship was central to ElvalHalcor’s participation in Greeks in AI 2026, where the company contributed its industrial perspective to the discussion on the opportunities and challenges of AI.

Held at the Eugenides Foundation, the symposium brought together representatives of the international academic, research and business communities. ElvalHalcor supported the event as an Emerald sponsor alongside Teka Systems, reflecting its commitment to innovation, knowledge exchange and the exploration of technologies that are shaping the future of industry.

Through presentations, panel discussions and workshops, the program explored AI applications and the development prospects of Greece’s AI ecosystem. Bringing research and business perspectives into the same discussion provided an opportunity to consider how advances in the field can respond to practical challenges, while strengthening connections among the communities involved in their development and adoption.

Representing ElvalHalcor, Lefteris Kaskavelis, Industrial Statistics Senior Manager at Elval, gave a keynote speech on “AI in Industry: Challenges & Opportunities for Growth”. His presentation highlighted AI’s potential to transform modern manufacturing by creating new opportunities for production optimisation, greater efficiency and the development of innovative solutions.

Kaskavelis also emphasised the importance of exchanging knowledge and experience through initiatives such as Greeks in AI. Such forums encourage dialogue between businesses, academia and the technology sector, helping build the collaborative relationships needed to unlock AI’s potential. He also highlighted that the successful adoption of AI depends on translating technological innovation into practical industrial applications that support productivity, operation excellence and long-term competitiveness.

ElvalHalcor’s participation in Greeks in AI 2026 reflects its ongoing commitment to exploring and adopting technologies that enhance operational performance and competitiveness. The symposium provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas around how research, technology and industrial expertise can work together to shape the future of manufacturing.
