Distinction for ELVALHALCOR for the new specialty “machine tool technician” with an exclusive Elval–DYPA cooperation memorandum

ElvalHalcor received a special distinction at this year’s Bravo Sustainability Dialogue & Awards 2025 event, organized by QualityNet. The award concerns the initiative “Partnership between Elval -the aluminium rolling division of ElvalHalcor- and DYPA (Public Employment Service), for paid apprenticeships in a modern industrial environment”, in the category of “Education – Young Generation – Lifelong Learning”. The awards ceremony took place at the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation, in the presence of institutional and social stakeholders.

Acknowledging the need of young people in Evia and Viotia for professional opportunities that combine education, innovation, and development prospects, Elval entered into a cooperation memorandum with DYPA. The initiative involves the creation and implementation of a pioneering program of paid and insured practical training within Elval's state-of-the-art industrial facility in Oinofyta, Viotia. The program is implemented in cooperation with DYPA’s Apprenticeship Vocational School (EPAS) in Chalkida and operates within the framework of the new specialty “Machine Tool Technician (CNC)”.  The aim of the initiative is to strengthen local employment through targeted technical education and hands-on experience under real working conditions in a safe and modern work environment.

Accepting the award on behalf of the company, Georgios Papandreou, Human Resources Director at Elval, stated: “We consistently invest in creating opportunities for young talent, providing them with the appropriate tools and resources to confidently build their careers. We are cultivating a new generation of specialised technical professionals by offering training in modern technologies and innovative practices in the aluminium processing industry. At the same time, we provide the opportunity to work in a reliable and safe environment, with clear pathways for professional advancement and competitive benefits. We take pride in Elval’s collaboration with DYPA and our joint efforts to strengthen young people in our local community via studying at the Vocational Apprenticeship School in Vasiliko, Chalkida, the only institution of its kind in Viotia and Evia, and practicing at Elval’s aluminium plant in Oinofyta.”.

It is worth noting that ElvalHalcor received an additional distinction at the Bravo Sustainability Dialogue & Awards 2025, as it was honoured for the holistic approach it applies to sustainable development through its initiatives, with the “SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT LEADER” award.
