Through specialised research and development, Elval produces custom-made aluminium products for a wide range of defence applications, continuously expanding its global footprint.
As part of this commitment, Elval has supplied high-quality aluminium sheets and plates to the Greek company Mevaco for the construction of next-generation naval ships by Naval Group, one of Europe’s leading defence contractors. Mevaco is a key partner of Elval, as well as a major supplier of mechanical systems and metallurgical equipment to the Naval Group. In particular, Elval’s aluminium was used, among others, in the FDI HN (Frégates de Défense et d'Intervention) frigate program of Naval Group for the Hellenic Navy.
Charalampos Chaikos, Commercial Senior Director at Elval, stated: “Our collaboration with Mevaco on the FDI HN frigate program of Naval Group for the Hellenic Navy is a clear demonstration of Elval’s expertise and reliability in the defence sector. We are especially proud to contribute to strengthening Greece’s naval shipbuilding industry, while also supporting innovative projects on a global scale.”
Elval brings extensive experience and an international footprint in defence-related projects, with partnerships across Europe, the USA, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. As a lightweight and highly durable material, aluminium is increasingly recognised as the ideal choice for defence applications where strength without additional weight is essential. Elval’s custom-grade aluminium alloys are tailored to the unique requirements of each project, offering durability, low weight, high mechanical performance, corrosion resistance, and long-term reliability.
Elval, continues to invest in aluminium rolling progress, innovation and collaboration with industrial partners and organisations active in defence projects, contributing to the development of a sustainable, competitive, and technologically advanced defence industry.
